MCA needling has multiple benefits, including but not limited to:

- Flattens and smooths scars/stretch marks

As long as the scar is fully healed then most scars can be treated. If the scar is still red or pink then it is still most likely healing so it is best to wait. Typically, scars take 6-12 months to heal.

It is not recommended to use any exfoliating products including AHAs at least 5 days before your appointment to avoid over-exfoliating.

Avoid direct sun exposure at least 48 hours before your appointment to avoid sensitivity.

Attend your appointment with clean, make-up free skin and loose clothing.

Immediately after the treatment the area will be slightly red and raised, with a similar feeling to sunburn. The majority of redness subsides within a day, although you may have slightly pink and warm skin on the following day.

For the next 48-72 hours your skin will be more sensitive so you must use only tepid water to cleanse the face and pat dry using a clean towel. It is recommended to avoid exercise and sweating for minimum 24 hours. You must avoid sun exposure for 72 hours, and then continue to use a high factor SPF.

It generally takes 6-8 weeks to see any results. The regeneration process will continue for 12 weeks as results improve.

The amount of treatments required will depend on the area being treated, the condition of the scar/stretch mark and age. In most cases it is usually a course of 2-6 treatment spaced 4-8 weeks apart.

You are not suitable for this treatment if the scar is less than 6 months old or not fully healed, you are under the age of 18, pregnant or breastfeeding, have used Roaccutane within the last 6 months, have open wounds, cold sores or infection in the area, have had radiation treatment with the last year, have a blood disorder, or have a history of keloid scarring.
