The appointment will begin with a consultation so Bryonie can gain an understanding of the look you want to achieve. The treatment area will then be disinfected and the shape is measured and drawn out. Once you are happy with the shape, numbing cream is applied which will sit on the skin for around 20 minutes. After numbing the procedure takes around 30-40 minutes with more numbing applied throughout. At the end of the procedure, a cooling gel is applied and Bryonie will cover the aftercare with you.

Yes, all SPMU treatments require a patch test if you have not had it done with us before. You book book a patch test in within a consultation, or if you prefer we can send one out in the post for you to complete at home. It must be done at least 24 hours before so if you are completing one at home please allow sufficient time for it to arrive.

All treatments require 2 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart.

After this, results will last anywhere between 1-3+ years (depending on the treatment received) before a touch-up is needed. This touch-up is 1 session only and is priced at £150.

The area will heal over much like a tattoo. In the next 10 days following the procedure the area will change colour (usually gets darker and then lighter), may fade and may flake. The true colour and shape will be seen after 4 weeks.

It is recommended that for at least 5 days following the procedure you avoid getting the area wet, including sweating and swimming. Make-up cannot be applied on the area for 10 days. You must be careful not to rub, pick or scratch the area whilst healing. Sun exposure must be avoided for minimum 2 weeks. An aftercare balm will be provided which can be applied up to 3 times a day to improve healing.

The majority of clients rate the treatment a 2-3/10 in terms of pain. The area is numbed before and during to make the procedure as comfortable as possible for you. Afterwards, the area may feel similar to sunburn.

Yes, the pigment leaves no scarring or discolouration and can be removed by either laser tattoo removal or salt and saline removal. At BG Aesthetics we offer Salt & Saline Removal.

One month prior to your appointment you will need to stop using any retinol or vitamin A products on the area to be treated.

Two weeks before your appointment avoid sunbeds, invasive skin treatments such as chemical peels and botox.

To minimise excessive bleeding we ask that you avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, or any other blood-thinning medication for 1 week prior to your appointment. Alcohol and caffeine can also contribute so it is best to avoid these 24-48 hours before also.

Two days before your appointment avoid waxing and tinting.

If you have previously suffered from cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another eruption of cold sores (lips) so be prepared to treat these if this occurs.

Please arrive to your appointment with clean, make-up free skin and ensure you are hydrated and are not on an empty stomach. If you have a colour in mind please bring along your favourite brow/lip pencil.
